So today I was trying to rid myself of some vermetid snails that have been stressing some of my corals. Unfortunatly, I couldnt remove the rock, or get to the snail enough to snap it off. Sooo, I thought I would superglue his tube.
well, it worked, but it also made alittle bit of a mess. when the glue came out, it actually turned into little balls and some of it floated in the current. It also made a nasty film on the water, but that was quickly cleaned and skimmed.
As I finished, I noticed that my Derasa was closed up, but didnt think much of it. He stayed closed for awhile, and when he opened, I could see a big glob of superglue had landed on his tissue. I couldnt find the camera, so I dont have any pics, but the area around the glue is kinda shriveled, and irritated.
I decided against trying to pull it off, as I figured that could tear the tissue, so I just left it alone. I am hoping that no permanet damage has been done, and that after a few days, it will come loose and the clam will recover. much like how superglue is all over my fingers.
