Okay, so it is make "your" own zapper (not make you own..lol), but it doesn't look like you can make corrections in the title unh?
Well I started out a couple of months ago assembling all the supplies to make my own zapper. It was harder than I thought to get the parts I wanted, but with some time off over the holidays (and many trips around town) I found everything and was ready to go. Well, I sat down and started putting it all together (a few emails to Jay B) and somewhere along the way I lost both of my really nice stainless steal needles. They both disappeared into thin air. I went back to the same store off and on over the next four weeks and it never came back into stock and I could not find anything similar.
Anyway, I really wanted to put a hurting on some items and decided just to buy the finished product. And, yesterday my wife found one of the needles...sitting in the middle of the garage (the other one is probably in the tire :hmm4 So, I now have everything you need to put one together. I started to put it together today, but thought, if for some reason my DYI skills do not connect something right, and it stops working, then I will have an unhappy fellow reefer. So, I decided to sell the parts and you can complete it. I spent around $50 in parts (it adds up in a hurry), but will sell it all for $25.
I did like my design modification in that the button (on and off switch) is set up to be on the end of the zapper versus having to it on a seperate hand held switch like everyone else's. That way you only need one hand to hold it and turn it off and on. It frees up your other hand to move rock as needed or balance yourself as you twist and turn to get at the critters. Okay, enough said, here are the pictures....The grey pvc piece is 24 inches long.
