Male Bangai Holding, What to do next?

I have a 30g hex tank with a pair of Bangai's, a pair of black clowns, a few anenome's and a cleaner shrimp. Now that the male is holding, I was going to take out the pair of black clowns, the female bangai and the cleaner shrimp and put them in my 180g display tank until the male spits out the young. When I do this I was going to take a black spiney urchin out of my display tank and put it in with the male bangai. Does this sound like the right thing to do leaving the male alone with just the black urchin until he spits out the babies??

That will work, however as you noticed your male spit the babies so even though it sounds like the correct thing to do its not always the best thing. I would just leave everyone alone. Your pair is comfortable enough to breed with the fish that are already in the tank.

So with that being said I would leave everyone in the tank until about the 20-25th day (a little trial and error may be needed). At that point I would pull the male and try to put him in a breeder box. Most likely he will spit the babies and if that is the case, at that point the babies are normally developed enough so that you have a good chance at raising the young. I have even been able to tumble the babies until they were free swimming.

If you want to relocate the clowns you can and then next time around if you want to relocate the female you can try just be really slow so that you don't stress out the male.

Jaypilot, when you say put the male in a breeder box, do you mean the small breeder boxes we used for breeding guppies, etc. with the "v" in the middle with the slit at the bottom for the young to fall through the bottom into.
