mandarin fish question

Just a question. I know they pick at rocks all day but Are they really eating pods. I can't see them eat

So the question is I never see any pods during the day. Well maybe a few running around on a rock. Most of the pods I see are at night. I have probably a million. I see thousand of mysis shrimp and other pods. But the Mandy are sleeping at night So what are they eating microscopic pods that I can't see

Many pods are very small and can't be seen unless they have a black background behind them.

So all those pods I see at night is only a fraction of the pods I really have

Yeah they probably are eating pods as that's like the only thing they eat.

But yea most definitely eating pods that we just can't see. I have a hard time seeing them in my cultures sometimes if the light is a certain way.

If you shine your lights in the sump or in dark area of the tank at night like small caves sometimes u will see very tiny ones swimming around. My corner overflow box has tons living in there as well...
