Mandarin Gogy in QT for Ich

So is there anything definitive about whether a mandarin goby can get ich? My brother gave me a yellow tang that he says was QT'd, but I put him in my display and some of my fish came down with ich. I only have a yellow tang, mandarin, diamond goby, and randall goby. The tang and then the diamond goby started to develop ich, so I took everyone out and put them in QT for hypo. Well i've been doing hypo for three weeks and no one is showing signs of ich.

Well my mandarin looks pretty thin now and I'm getting worried that he isn't getting enough copepods. I want to release him back to the DT and keep monitoring the other fish for another three weeks (i'll have to slowly raise the salinity).

Is the mandarin safe or will he just keep the cycle going in the DT?

I don't think there is a definitive answer but you may have to take the chance if you want the mandarin to live. Some say once you notice them looking thin it may be too late.

Well my guy was thin when I got him and he's slowly gotten fatter. He eats frozen most of the time, which supplements the copepods. I'm just afraid I have zero copepods in the QT. If I can get the salinity up in the next week and he look healthy enough for a freshwater dip, that's what I'll do. Then I'll just treat the rest of the guys with cupramine.

I would just put him back..no dip..mandarins are generally not carriers nor suseptible to ich from everything I have read..
