Lets see some of your mangrove photos. Refugiums, in tank, lagoon tanks, or what ever you have. I am trying to get some ideas for a new fuge I will be making just for looks.
I have some photos of natural mangroves (red and black) from the lagoon on my website. (If that helps with the inspiration at all.) Check out the seagrass hunting posts.
rwhhunt, I've seen your photos as well and like you set up. My brother actually bought that exact same fake tree that you have in the center of your tank. Big difference would be that my brothers was covered in algae in a fresh water tank with guppies while yours is clean in a sweet mantis/mangrove set up. I really want to get a mantis one day.
Do most people leave the roots exposed just so they can create crawl space for critters and filter more water? I was curious if I could burry most of the roots in my substrate.
