mangrove question.

i got this mangrove root while walking on the beach today. figured id give it a shot in my fuge. is it the kind that okay to be in tanks? i was wondering should i put it in the sand? should i let it plant itself? is it okay to put it in the sand fully submerged in the water?

The top part has to be out of the water. You can attach it to that pipe or float it using styrofoam. The roots will grow down and eventually allow it to stand up by itself. They aren't too hard really.
