Mantis Breaking Tank

Can I have a mantis in a glass tank, or will it crack it? What triggers the symptoms for it to hit the glass?

In my limited experience with Mantis Shrimp, I have not had one break a tank. I've seen people keep them in glass tanks no problem, however to be safe the thicker the glass the better. Acrylic seems to work best though, it tends to be a lot stronger, even if it is one of your small 20-gallon or so LFS setups.

i dont kno what kind of mantis is in my tank, but i hear the "click click" sound sometimes but not too often. i wanna keep a n. ween i think its called, in a 2g

man that sound drove me insane when i first got my TBS package.
NOt as much as the sound but knowing what was in my tank.
sometimes late at night i still wake up w/ a cold sweat from having a nightmare about it....*CLICK CLICK* AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! :eek2:

I tried keeping my N. Wenn in a 2.5 gallon but really its too small..

The 5.5 gallon aquariums are the same price as the 2.5 but its so much easier to keep a constant salinity rate , parameters etc... the bigger the tank is... IMHO I would use a 5.5 for a N. Wenn
