MY MANTIS HAS EGGS!!!!!!!!!!
In adition to my aptasia experimint i guess ill toy around with baby mantis rearing....Ill post pics and keep youall posted

So do you have 2 of them in there or do they reproduce A sexualy???? If they don't you might have eggs never fertilized which meens they are no more then fish food

Im pretty sure they are fertile which means this could be a cool experiment.

Watch what you wish for, they are nothing but trouble in a Reef aquarium IME.
But they would be cool to have in a species specific tank.

She was mine and I gave her to Shane, and I know she may grow and cause trouble later, but she really did no harm to anything except to eat, and that was only the hermit crabs. I think she is pretty easy going. I didn't want her because I didn't appreciate her like I knew Shane would.

IDK she wont touch any of my hermits in her 10.....maby shes too busy placing the eggs in the sand? idk

I never have trouble with mine in a reef tank but each experience can and will differ. If you have other fish I would be careful.

Kinda off topic but fishmon had the most wicked peacock mantis in the shop last week. That guy was beautiful but definitely not friendly.

Ask around and you can get 1 4 free
they are considered "bad pests" and are usually given away free or killed..........

If you just want one cheap and don't care about a specific species you can usually get a n. wennerae from most fish stores that stock aquacultured rock.

Just let the store know that you are looking for one and i'm sure you could convince them to hold the next one they find for you.

he has just been holding it , its ordered for some one. but last i saw, 3 or 4 days ago it was still there.

I want one to put in my fuge but man this hobby is realy dead up here.

There is no one in the area with tanks that i know of, and have no one to trade with if sucks!

iv only been in SW since feb. i think, due to a co worker showing me the mantis,

since then iv met 3 people in person who have them.
plus one in fishmons display that always hides, i havent seen it yet.
and the peacock thats already sold...

odo gave me one.

and i have been promised one as soon as its done molting.

i would have never guessed they were that common.
