ok, i have been waiting foer a week to write this post! this is the blue spear that miztech was talking about. he is so great! he isnt real active but kool non the less! here are some pix!

here is a few crappy pix of cracker jack. he is the tiny mantis i got from my local lfs. thats a dime next to him! has any one ever had one this small? if so, some pionters on how i should best care for the little guy would be nice. i dont want such a small creature to die because i was unaware of certin things i was supposed to do!
any way, here he is....

and this is bruce, my pecock! he is awesome and massive!

thanks for looking. an id on booberry, the blue mantis would be great!

I dig the aquascaping in Bruce's lair. Does he live in the urn?

yeah yeah its out! the dime was only for a minute or two, just to show a size comparsion. bruces lair is actually not that tank, its a 20 high. that tank belongs to the new mantis. and he doeslive in the urn! im so glad too, thats why i bought it!

nm, i see, seperate tanks...

i put bruce in the same tank that booberry is in now while i was setting up his new tank. at that time booberry was had not yet arrived from where he was purchased.
however he did try to go inside the urn while residing in the tank. he swam half way in and quickly relized he was to big to fit in there. he did not try to go back in there for the rest of the time he was in the tank. it was funny to watch.

and so every on knows, cracker jack was not harmed by the copper. he never comes out of his burrow but, is very lively, eats more than the other 2 and is alwayse watching.

Wow great shots! he's even prettier then how he looked at the store, kinda hard to get a good look in the little cubicle they had him in, looks like a great home for him..

i THINK that it might be a male G. Glaborous but im not sure... the color of the mural spot would be really helpful, the glaborous has an orange one if that helps... check out roy's list though... im sure it can help.

I'm still jealous that you got that spearer from Salty Critter. But I am consoling myself with the banana yellow P. cilliata I just got from them earlier today. Unfortunately I JUST moved to Colorado and I have to wait to get my reef tank cycled and Dan to ship my corals he is holding, so I can save on shipping the mantis.

As for Cracker Jack I think he is even smaller than Squirtle when I got him. He was no bigger than a nickel, and lived in a piece of tonga branch he had hollowed out. I fed him fish pellets as they were the only thing I could find that was small enough for him to handle. Now he is destroying anything smaller than the big Turbo snails.

yeah he is a little bugger! i feed him small bits of misys shrimp and squid. he eats well and is aggressive when taking a food item. however he never comes out of his burrow. did squirtle ever come out of his?

Yea squirtle is quite the character. His home is now on the kitchen counter.
