First is Gonodactylus platysoma.
Good Chioce.

Second is Lysiosquillina maculata.
They get BIG and stay in the burrow.

G platysoma, while not the most active of all mantids, wuold be a good choice.

L. mac would be terrible for a nano.

how about an N. wennerae. 50$ will get you one shipped from TBS. they stay small and usually quite active.

Hi,
Thanks for the reply and the ID's!
A big advantage to buying from Sharky's Reef for me is that I am within driving distance from them- so I would not have to have it shipped to me- I could pick it up. Any reason to go to Chicago is a good reason. :)
I know that I would not be saving any money as opposed to driving approx 3 hours one way as opposed to shipping. But could turn the trip into a mini get-away, and pick up mantis before we head back to Michigan.
I would assume that if I follow the mantis shipping advice at head of forum that I could assure my new mantis a much smoother, quicker trip than UPS or FedEx.
