I was looking into mantis shrimp, since everytime we get in new LR at work, theres always a couple in there. I was thinking maybe an eclipse. Any info in what type of things to keep them in would be apreciated. I know about em, but not keeping em. And feeding i suppose id do.... feeder guppies? i dont like live foods since they arent to clean. tips on care would be good, i checked out a few sites, but most dont tell how to start up the tank and what it will need, etc. Thanks in advance.

Well if it's a small species, just about any tank will do. I use water from my reef for water changes. Mine will eat anything. Not sure if feeder guppies only would be good for them. I do ocassionally put in Mollies. But I feed many other things also.

The one im looking at is pretty small, would a half gallon tank work? I know its a little small, but i dont really wanna spand $124 on a nano cube (but boy arent they nice...). Either that or an eclipse.

You would have problems with water quality in a half gallon, I would imagine. An eclipse at Walmart is fairly cheap.
