Mantis proof clean up crew?

I have a Mantis shrimp in my tank. In 2 years, I have never seen him, only hear his snapping. He killed all my Turbo snails and hermit crabs. He has not gotten my Astraea snails though. Are there any other "mantis proof" snails/crabs? I do my very best to keep the algea in check but with only Astraea snails , its tough.

No there is not really anything "mantis proof" that I can think of. Sorry.

You might try to find out of urchins are mantis-proof. That's my only thought.

Could be a pistol, Not sure.
My Astraea snails stay alive somehow, I thought maybe there were some others.

I'd probably want to positively id first. You may have a pistol in there and a crab doing the killing. Have you went on night time hunts to rule out a crab?
