mantle extension question

i was reading up on mantle extension and it can be too far if its reaching for light. and now im paranoid! lol how do u tell if ur clams mantle is over extending or if its just normal extension, how far should it hang over the shell?

this will depend on species, the environment and the individual clam, it would be a lot easier if you posted a picture of your clam and / or supplied some information about what type of clam you have, location and lighting.

its a crocea, a 29gal, its about half way up on rocks, i have t5ho 4x39 watts 10k, and blue actinics.
