Mantle pigmentation and age?

When does a maxima start to color up. I have an ORA green maxima that is less than 2 inches. It does not have any of the green flourescent pigment that I see in photographs. It is getting plenty of light now and is under 8 T-5 bulbs. It is exposing the mantle to the light and I will also feed it phytoplankton. Thanks

the crazy fluorescent clams ( AKA 'electric' ) are crocea's, could you post a top down pic of your clam?? while maxima's don't have the same 'electric' look, they usually have great mantle patterns and colours and bring a higher $$$$.

Yah they proably sold you a run of the mill brown one saying its green. I ordered on once (green) and it came in PINK. lucky me.
