Manufacturer for 180g

I'm looking to make the jump from my 75g up to a 180g and am going through the usual anxiousness over getting the right tank. I've searched here and elsewhere and found many opinions on which manufacturers make the best large tanks. Opinions obviously vary greatly. What I cannot find is a newer thread on the topic. From my research it seems Oceanic > Aqueon > Perfecto. However it sounds like Perfecto has gotten better in recent years. Does all of this still more or less hold true? I honestly don't think I can afford an Oceanic tank and stand combo. Is the Aqueon worth the extra money over a Perfecto these days? Any others brands I'm missing that would be a good value considering cost vs build quality? I know Marineland and Perfecto are the same company...do Marrineland tanks fall at the same spot on the spectrum as Perfecto?

Appreciate any advice. I don't want to break the bank, but also want to limit the chance of 180g on my hardwood floors!

Thanks,

Justin

I have had both aqueon and perfecto, back in the day perfecto was good, but honestly have had capillary leaks w perfecto, and did not get any help from them, Aqueon has never given me a problem and for a good price differential for a 180 IMo aqueon can be had for a fair deal and I never had the issues with my 180 aqueon that perfecto gave me. Good luck.

I have a Marineland 180g and love it. The overflow boxes are great because they pull water from the middle as well as the top. It's a noticeable difference.

I had heard similar things about Perecto, j tavares, which is what concerned me. Alanb, do you know if the parent companies sell MArineland as a seperate product from PErfecto? It seems like they use the same stands, but perhaps they design the tanks different in the same way that Central now designs Oceanic and Aqueon somewhat different. Any knowledge on this?

No not sure.

I got my 180 brick style from Deep Sea Aquatics in Dallas. It is some of the old Oceanic guys that left and started their own company after the buy out. It is a great looking tank, priced reasonably and built to last.
