Marbled mushroom mouth open

For the last few days my marbled mushroom has been opening its mouth. Not continuously but for long periods of time. Does this mean it is trying to split? Previously this mushroom reproduced by pedal laceration.

when you say wide do you mean so wide you can see its guts? cause i had some that did that and they wound up splitting
