Nitrates in the Saltwater Reef Aquarium:
How they are formed and how to remove them with a methanol denitrator.

By: Dr. David Thompson

I have a PhD in chemistry. I've been running a methanol denitrator for over 3 years. Over the past few years I have helped over a dozen people all over the world, from New Jersey to New Zealand, reduce nitrates with methanol denitraters.
I've been an active member of FMAS for about 4 years. I currently serve on the FMAS board as the school liaison and media director.

I've been playing with saltwater fish tanks for about 12 years now. In 2011 is started a 200gal mixed reef system, from softies to sps. My Tank was featured on the 2013 FMAS Tank Hop. I currently have 30 fish and feed multiple times a day. My nitrates stay between 1-2.5mg/L.
Please join us as we delve into this very interesting topic.

No chance it can be recorded to be viewed by other members who can't attend?
I asked about this when they had that grand opening at a local wholesaler a few months ago. The answer was they were working on it. I'm somewhat curious what being able to watch the meeting from an online recording might do to attendance.

Regards
Michael

UPDATE- Sorry folks, not only change of venue but also of day. Meeting will be Wednesday, March 25th 2015.

Sorry, school is closed for Spring Break, and NSU had a conflict also.

Your correct Michael. That is ONE of the concerns. The goal of meetings is to get the community together and discuss our passion. As it is we have a huge community of reefers here in SF, and this year attendance has been great so far, but i am convinced it would be better if people got off their iphones, computers, and TV's and hang out with others that share that same passion.

The other obstacle is that not all speakers want to be recorded. As they travel the country with their speeches putting it up on video knocks out their thunder. So I cant say that i blame them.

Please notice the change in venue AND day of the week. Its at Nova Oceanographic center in Dania Beach and on a WEDNESDAY.

We will also be getting a tour of theit aquaculture facility after the meeting. Dont miss this one.

Remember its next Wednesday, NOT Tuesday, at Nova' Oceanographic Center. Info is on our website.
