it used to look like that. Thats the Deltec MCE300 on there, however i am currently using the Warner Marine H2
(http://glassbox-design.com/2008/warner-marine-hang-on-the-back-skimmer/)

the Warner Marine H2 is a stronger skimmer than the Deltec MCE300, and once broken in performs amazingly.

Thanks for the picture, lots of stuff going on back there!

Did the MCE300 fit in the Solona compartment easily? Where does the output of hte skimmer go?

I'll look into the Waner Marine, it seems to be the same price as the Deltec. I just read the thread you started in the Deltec forum from last year and I was almost sold on buying that one, haha.

I have a question about your old tank.

how did the MCE300 fit into the 24 gallon? Also, did you think it worked well?

FWIW I fit am MCE 600 in a 24gal with no problem. Just had to shorten the outflow tube.

Thanks for the quick reply! Does the skimmer fit in the back compartments, because in your early pictures, I can see the skimmer intake in the tank.

Also, does it only work when you take the lid off?

It won't fit the back compartment of a Aquapod, but the Warner Marine H2 and the Deltec MCE300 Skimmer will fit the back compartment of the Solana.

Updates - I lost both my flame wrasses, my male and female because they jumped to the floor. That being said I'm done with expensive fish, and will dedicate the tank thoroughly to the corals and clams.

Upcoming events - Upgrade in February to a low iron version of the Solana, stay tuned```

sup ez,
I have a solana, the guy I got it from said it was a starfire, but I dont really see a difference. Then again, I dont have two side by side. How can you tell?

I also got the H2X skimmer. Thinking of switching for one that fits into one of the back compartment. Afraid someday the tank might leak b/c of 2 gallons hanging on the back panel.

I've had quite a few setbacks in this tank.
Main issue being a vizitherm heater exploding and cracking the sump!
Also, the electrical outlet was wired wrong and kept creating a shortage in the breakers. Now that THATS fixed, the tank is finally set up and good to go.
Currently adjusting water parameters. 1.022 sg, water temp at 72 degrees, i'm not sure if i remember how to set up a tank anymore lol

It's (sadly) comforting to know that even the "pros" encounter all the fun set backs. Do you still have all those beautiful clams?

lol
i'm not a pro by any means mskurdah, just a regular noob like everyone.
i have some of the clams, i've lost the black and whites though :(
