Margarita Snail Question

Hello All:

Yesterday I added an algae attack pack to my tank which included 10 margarita snails, 20 dwarf red tip hermits, 5 scarlet reef hermits and one shell abalone....This morning I found one of the larger margarita snails on the front glass panel emiting a white, thin, ribbon-like trail behind it that is sticking to the glass...Are these eggs? If so are they fertilized? Will the egss hatch in captivity? Will this lead to overpopulation?

Thanks in advance for any information.

Yep, pretty sure those are eggs you have. :) Mine always seem to get covered with a thin film of algae after a few days and then seem to dissappear after a week or two. Don't know if they're fertilized, hatch, etc., but it's fun to see.

Sounds like eggs to me too i see them in my tank too but then they get eaten by the urchin or another snail. i hear if they do hatch that they will get eaten before they get large enough to no get eaten. But this is a sign of a healthy reef usually
