Maroon Clown in search of a mate...

I have a Maroon Clown in my tank for 4 years now that I suspect is a female and I was wondering if it was too late to get her a mate. The reason I believe it is a female is that it is fairly large and very dark and she's been clearing away rock and sand away from my torch coral for nearly 4 months now. Not to be rude, but I'm thinking she's open for business. :-)

At this point, would it be safe to add another clown and if so, what's my best bet to get, small and prepubescent or something larger?

Smallest maroon clown available is all that MAY work.

maroon's are notoriously hard to pair. You may go through a few mates before she settles on one she finds suitable.

Get a baby, put it in a clear tupperware with holes and leave it near the females territory for a few days. 2-3 days. Than release and be ready to rescue the little guy if he is getting trashed too hard.

good luck.

Well, that sounds harsh but it confirms what I've read. Have you heard of anyone being successful at doing this?

Also, what if I give up on the Maroon and add a new pair of Perculas? Will the Maroon give them hell or do Maroons only hate their own kind?
