i think i finaly got my two maroon clowns paired up :lolspin:. my question is the female is a gold stripe and the male is not, will they still lay eggs? im not looking to breed them or save the offspring but i just wanted to know if they will produce offspring.

i had the 2 clowns for about 8-9 months, 5 of which were with a gbta. about 4 weeks ago the "female" got her gold stripes. the male doesnt have them. i got them both from the same place at the same time. when i put in the nem iun it took about 4-5 weeks for the clown to go to the nem. the female was the first. she would chase the other clear to the other side of the tank. slowly she allowed him closer and eventualy he also hosted with the nem. now they never leave each others side.before the nem i thought they paired because the one started to grow bigger than the other but when i added the gbta the female went and never allowed the male to get close but it looks like they are paired now. i guess i did it with a bunch of patience and time.

That's how it usually happens. But I seen it take longer for the female to allow the male in them nem with other types like occy or percs. Gsm I think kinda pair faster, but that's my opinion. I never really had a problem with pairing a gsm really.
