Maroon Clown with puffy eye?

This morning I noticed my Maroon's right eye with a little white around it. The other eye doesn't have it and the smaller male Maroon doesn't have it. They are in a 40G tank with just them, an RBTA and a very small cuc. They were added about 3.5 months ago. I did not QT them as I was weighing my options of selling the setup for pennies on the dollar I paid after upgrading. I purchased them together and no other fish are going into the tank. Previously the tank was setup for 10 months and fish in that tank were moved to my upgrade tank. Never had a disease that I am aware of. All those fish look normal in my 80G tank. The tank has good params - 0 ammonia, 0 nitrite, less than 5 nitrate. SG is at 1.025. I also should mention there is no abnormal behavior. Meaning she is acting like she always does and eating perfectly fine.

Pictures aren't great but I think they are good enough to show the difference between the left eye and the right eye. Maybe its nothing. Its not overwhelming but since I just noticed it, I'm thinking it wasn't there before.

Thanks for any input.

*edit - first 2 photos are of the left normal looking eye and the last 3 are the right eye
*edit2 - any white spots in the photos are from the glass. The fish isn't covered in any white spots at all.

Also I know I'll probably get a qt lecture. I do qt in my other tank and my thinking whether right or wrong was to qt these guys for 40-50 days or put them in and if something was wrong Id move them and qt them for 72 days while letting the tank sit fishless for those 72 days.

Bump - anyone have any thoughts on this? When I look this morning the eye looks the same if not a tad worse. It's white forming around underneath the right eye with a slight puffiness. Could this happen if he bumped a rock or is it almost certainly a disease. I find it strange it would appear almost 4 months later when no fish were added. His other eye is fine and his little male mate has no signs.

Mods can you please move this to the disease forum for me?

Thanks! Steve

its possible he just hurt him self a bit, One of my clowns' eye puffed out like that as well, and nothing new was added. After a couple days the swelling went down.

Thanks for the reply. That is my hope and it did cross my mind. They are very agressive towards the RBTA and she is a lot bigger than the RBTA so I could see her swimming into the rock while doing this.

The pics are not so clear on my phone, but try googling "pop eye" or searching the disease forum for that.
I had a chalk bass with it, I think from getting startled and swimming into a rock head-on. I believe it can also be a symptom of swelling in the skull, like a sinus or brain infection type of thing. Iirc correctly, you want to treat the infection unless you are sure that it is an injury, then you can just treat the Popeye itself with Epsom salts. Confirm that with a disease expert, but in the mean time some stuff to research.

PS I don't think qt prevents every issue. Like people, you can avoid viruses like colds, and parasites, but bacterial infections can get around those precautions. Of course, if a fish is struggling with low grade ich, it might be weaker to fight off an infection but it's not the whole story. Like, don't let worrying about a qt lecture make you reluctant to post for help with a sick fish or anything
