might be trying to scare you off.... or hes trying to find some food.. whitch would float up.
to be honest with you, i have a maroon, and its bta moved to the front side of a rock, and its tenicles graze the substrate. well ever since it moved here, the maroon has spent every waking moment for 2 weeks moving gravel from under the anemone.. so much piece by piece theres no a 2 inch dip. yesterday.. she figured out how to do the tail wag thing, and shes gonna reach glass soon if she doesent stop!

I'm not sure if you're talking about the same thing, but my maroon uses her tail to clear away sand. I've seen a few others that do the same thing, so I guess it's pretty normal. Maroons seem to be avid housekeepers and like to arrange their chosen area the way they like.
