And we will be having Joe Caparatta from unique corals and triton to speak on "the triton method" it's based off of replenishment of all the tanks needs and NO WATER CHANGE which is a welcome sight in the fact we are in a drought. Ultragem will be stocked up and ready to go as well as a %20 discount! This is a potluck meeting as well as having a raffle. So we're going to have fun!

Let's get this bad boy going. The better we do in this raffle the better stuff we will have in the next raffle (maybe at Dave's for the "frag swap"... please post if you're going and if your bringing anything ie; stuff for the potluck or raffle (corals) please cause it allows everyone to know what's everyone bringing

i am going to try to make it since this is so close. is there anything in particular for the potluck you need?

Anything you Wana bring. I'm going to see if I can get a grill therr so we can grill something

If you can take the grill, I can take some sausages.

I do not own ANY SW tanks, but I have been fascinated by them for a few months now. Any room for a freshwater guy like me trying to learn and gawk at the beautiful items at the store and gain some knowledge?

There's definitely room. We have plenty f very knowledgeable reefers that take pride in moulding minds in reefing. So you will be in great hands :-)

Sounds awesome. I'm tentatively saying yes just because I have to check with my significant other and make sure we aren't doing anything.

Absolutely

Cool. I'll take some sausages if you guys are ok with that :). Roughly how many people are you expecting?

Hurry up and set one up already! Haha
I wish it was that easy, buy I have always spent months researching something before I dive in, and with SW setups, it is taking me a REALLY long time to grasp different aspects of the hobby. Which is why I thought this would be a good starting point. I'm sure many subjects would be above my head, but I'm willing to learn.

Don't sell yourself short

It's great that you're taking your time with research before diving in. However, there are so many different schools of thought and processes that we all continue to learn as we go. That said, DIVE IN! There are plenty of us here to keep you afloat. :bounce3:

lol, I swear, you guys are not making this any easier. My plan is to save up for quite a while and get the better equipment right off the bat. I have set up way too many FW tanks to know that going cheap in the beginning will cost you in the long run. Can't wait to go to the meet and soak it in :).

I'm finally getting back into the hobby after a 5 year hiatus and joining a local club has piqued my interest. As a resident of Granada Hills (San Fernando Valley), which club(s) would be appropriate?

MASLAC! There a great clubs throughout SoCal but MASLAC is the closest one to you. Chefzilla (Brent) is El Presidente and his royal palace is located in the SFV.

Yes there are a few clubs in the southern California area. But we're the most local club to you. As maslac (formerly sfvr) we have been going strong for a few years now. You are more than welcome to attend the meetings as a non member. :-) hope to see you this Saturday
