mass snail spawn

this morning when I woke up at 5:30 I went to check on the water clairity in my refugium, because yesterday I installed a new phosban reactor and at lights out last night the water was cloudy. Well when I saw the water this morning it was still cloudy but I saw a snail emitting a white cloud and witch I have seen many times before, but this time I saw another snail spewing little green what I think were eggs, It would send out these egg about every 30 sec. or so and the other snail was still releasing its milky substance. I watched this for atleast a 1/2 hour. then when the display tank lights came on @7:30 the samething was going on, this went on till 8:30 when I had to go to work. I didnt know if I should turn off my skimmer so I left it running. any advise on what I should do to increase the chance of some of the snails living, there was thousands of these eggs in the tank,in fact it was like micro bubbles that fill the whole water colum, any input would help

Not much to do I'd think. What kind of snails are they? Maybe you'll lots of babies. I'm of the theory that anything that doesn't survive is free food.

I saw my anthias opening there mouths like they were eating but they didnt chase them around like they do at feeding time, although with the amount that there was they didnt have to chase them. I mean there was thousands of these eggs in the water, I dont know much about the life cycle of snails and I was hopeing that this post might shed some light on the subject

When this happens in my tank, I usually blast my UV for a day....try to fry as many of those eggs as possible.....

fry them? I would to see if I can get them to become adults

I forgot to say that these are astreas, but once they started to spawn so did the troches(sp)
