mated pair of mystery wrasse?

I know someone locally who claims to have a mated pair of mystery wrasse. I do not know much about pairing up wrasses or if there is any value to that at all. Does anyone know anything about mated pairs of wrasse? If so please explain the value of that (not necessarily money) and if you can potentially see spawning in a tank with a pair of wrasse.

Never heard of or seen a mystery wrasse pair before. But I guess it is possible like other wrasse species. But I have no clue what the differences are in a male and female mystery.

Yea I googled it and came up with nothing. I have no idea how he concluded that they were a pair. I assume they can exist in the same tank without killing each other without being a pair.

Pseudocheilinus species typically hate conspecifics. If they have two mysterys living peacefully with each other, they are a pair.

The biggest benefit to having a pair versus a single individual is being able to see more of their "natural" behaviors, including spawning. There is nothing like a male wrasse flashing and displaying to a female. It really is awe-inspiring! If the pair is within your budget and you have no plans for shrimp or small fish, I'd say snap them up!

i bond pairs of mysteries all the time. it takes some time and skill to be able to do it, but i have it down pretty good now.

Mystery pairs are awesome... i wish they were slightly less mean thoug.
