I've had a pair of pistols living in the same burrow for over three months, with not a bit of domestic disharmony until now. One is about two inches, and the other is half that size. Yesterday, the smaller (male?) chased the larger out of the burrow. She spent the night coiled up on the heater, and tried to return to the burrow this morning. The smaller one ripped her claw off, and threw her back out again.
I rearranged the rocks in their tanks, and each took a different end of the aquascape. The yasha goby is with the injured pistol. I know the claw will grow back, but does anyone know why they would suddenly turn against each other? The two shrimp and the goby are the only inhabitants in an aquapod 12.
Thanks for your experiences and advice...
