HOLY COW THOS HORNS ARE HUUUUGGG!! how long are they? all of those fish and stunning and so is the family :) i need to get to Maui soon. last time i was even in Hawaii was before i got into this hobby, i sure missed out.

I love the maui aquarium. Did they have a tiger shark in their main display tank? They tend to keep them until it outgrows the faculity.

Those were great! Glad you posted them. Those unicorn tangs are insane! How anyone would think they could keep one in a home aquarium is beyond me!

Yep, going to a public aquarium after you've been in saltwater a while is a totally different thing. The Maui aquarium has the largest collection of living corals in North America...

And yes, those horns are about 6" long, the one with it's mouth open had an enormous horn, it's easily a 2' fish and the horn is at least 1/4 of it's body length.

man those fish are fat! thanks for sharing....
They are quite the chunky pigs. One dussumieri was so fat I dont even know how it swam, it was no longer streamlined :)

I don't like these pictures because they make me "JEALOUS!!!!!!!!"
I dont like them either because it makes me want to go right back...

They did have a tiger shark, I havent really gone through all my aquarium pictures yet, I just grabbed out the easy fish ones. Most of the ones of the sharks I took with my wife and kid standing in front.

wowowowoww

thank you for sharing
Sure thing.

Yeah, seeing them really makes you realize how much they dont belong in the average person's aquarium. These things are HUGE.

I also forgot to post this picture...

That's very true. A completely difference experience for you, and a completely different experience for the people with you.

I'm sure it's a joy to hear a saltwater enthusiast naming all of the fish in every exhibit, pointing out the errors, and complaining about the tanks being overstocked.

It definitely give new perspective on just how big some of these fish get. A wild caught full grown adult volitan lion is a sight to see.
