Maxi-Mini Anemone at my Fighting Conch

Anyone ever seen this happen before? I have a 4" maxi-mini nem who gets fed once every few days and has been doing great. I put in 4 fighting conches about a week ago and they've been doing a good job so far moving sand around. I got up this morning and found the head end of one of my conches slightly inside my nem's mouth. My conch wasn't moving. I pulled him away from my nem. It definitely appeared to be stuck. I guess the conch was rooting around and got too close to my nem. Maxi-minis are very sticky so evidently it was able to hold onto the conch and pull it in to the point where the conch shell was too large to go any further.

Is this a rare occurence or can I expect to see my other 3 conches experience the same fate eventually? I'm waiting to see if my conch starts moving around again but I have my doubts he's still alive.

Regards,
Bob

I meant my anemone ate my fighting conch

I meant to say that my maxi-mini anemone ate my fighting conch. Does this happen often? I have 3 more conches so I'm hoping they were watching and learned a valuable lesson.

Bob

No lessons were learned. Anemones eat stuff and it seems like fighting conchs are on the menu.
