So I've had this guy for about 8 months now. I initially placed him high in the tank in direct light and he moved to where he is now over the course of a few months, having chosen a spot near the middle of the tank for about 4 months now.
The thing that is weird to me is that it's almost constantly stretched out during the day (he comes back down flat against the rocks or close at night). His foot stays firmly attached to the crevice he's based in, but the main body stretches out towards the surface by about 4 inches. He also fairly frequently folds in on himself (while still stretched out from the base) and back out to full width a few times a day if not more.
My thoughts were that if it wanted more light, it has options to go higher in the tank or just stay where I had put it. There's nothing up top that would bother it, so it's not as if it would prefer to be there and got bullied lower.
He gets fed 1-2 times a week with Mysis. Didn't eat for a while after I got him, but does whenever I feed him now.
So...any ideas on why he does this? All the maxi's I've seen other places lay flat...
EDIT: Light is an LED fixture that hits that part of the tank at about 100 PAR. He did this under lower light T5s before I switched to this light as well.
