Maxspect gyre or Vortech mp40

Hi guys

What should I get for my 100 gallon sps dominant tank a gyre or 2 Vortechs

Unfortunately, I don't think that is a fair comparison. One gyre will not give the flow of 2 MP40s. What are your tank dimensions? The gyres give a nice laminar flow, while the MP40s give a direct shot. I think it all depends on your tank dimensions and rock work.

I have to disagree with ghost man. They definitely are as powerful, if not more powerful than 2 mp40's. I'd get a gyre. Slim, dual adjustable angles, really powerful. I have mine set at about 40% on my 6 ft 125 and there are no dead spots and plenty of random flow.

I have 4 mp40s and 2 maxspects 150s in my 420....best of both worlds

Gyre. Had a 40 in my 90. Gyre is way better

When I tried the Gyre in my 210 it was so powerful I had to dial it back a lot. Seemed like a waste. So I sold the Gyre and kept the MP40's.

I use a maxspect gyre in gyre mode plus a jebao rw-15 in pulse mode on my 125gal. Either one by themselves isn't quite right, but I'm happy with them together.
