The May meeting will be a Seining event and if you wish to bring a soda or snack for yourself I beleive there might be picnic tables around, but not 100% sure of that. Might bring a bucket, definetly where tennis shoes or water shoes that can get wet and muddy, might bring a towel, sun screen if you need it, a hat might be nice.

It will be on Sunday the 21th around 3pm at the south Lido beach canoe/kayak launch sound ? It's at the southern end of Lido Key. Go until you get to Taft which you follow ENE until it dead ends at the launch.
Also it was decided that a Salt Water Fishing License would be the safest for legality purposes. But this is an individuals choice.

(Ignore the star, you can't search for south lido beach boat ramp)

Hope to see you all there...

BTW, this isn't restricted to ACROS members. Bring a friend, neighbor, or anyone else who's curious about life forms in the bays.

There are picnic tables. I plan to make it a family outing with a picnic meal after we're done seining.

Post here if you plan on attending...........

Dawn and I will be there...We will bring some soda and snacks as well. I have a floating bait bucket that I will bring. Just a note that we where out in the boat today and there where quite a few large Jelly fish (the stinging kind) floating around. Just be aware of your soroundings while we are in the water.

Count me in, I definitely need some hermits and other algae critters. My trip to Manasota Key crapped out on me, though I did pick up some neat shark teeth.

I'm bringing two friends, they're almost 4, and 8 years old. Gotta start these reefers young ;) .

LadyFSU glad to hear you'll make it, want a capnella (kenya tree) frag ? Could also bring some green with brown skirts zoanthids for your school tanks.

lmk

That would be GREAT! YES I would like that! We were just given 2 70 gallon tanks that are shallow so the club can learn to start fragging :) and growing. The tanks don't have filters, lights etc...but we're working on that ;)

Anyone who is going today grow their own phyto? We are also going to start doing that and I would love a cup to start us off. Don't know if using DT's to start will work...I'll try that otherwise!
