McCosker's Flasher Wrasse

I was looking in to getting one of these Flashers. In my 90gallon I have a 4" Singapore Angel that I want to replace with a sizable yellow tang, 3 occi clowns 1-2", a 2" pacific blue tang, 2" psudeochromis, 3" Bicolor Blenny, 2 fire shrimp, and 1 cleaner shrimp. I am wanting corals so if you think this wrasse will cause a problem, speak up.

Are there any suggestions?

Very cool fish but like Snowboarda42 said they WILL eventually jump. I had one and even had a mesh top, which I thought the mesh was small enough. He jump right through it when I was at work and found him on the floor.

Well I have a glass top, but there is two inches along the back that is not covered. Would that have to be covered?
Use like an egg crate or something?

Don't know if the people saying that it will jump currently have or have had a McCosker's in the past because I currently have one and it has never once jumped and I have an open top. Have had it for 6 months now...great fish but what is true is that if you have a Psuedochromis, the McCosker's will get picked on...my Neon Psuedochromis gives chase for a bit and then backs off but then again its a 225g so many places to run and hide for my McCosker's. Good luck and great choice as they are incredibly beautiful fish and when they flash or display, the colors are striking.

man tang you are playing with fire..i tried keeping a flasher in an open top and lasted about 6 months and then i found him all nice a crispy..i keep only fairys and flashers and i hear them jump all the time and you have been lucky but i do not think it is a good idea to keep them in an open top they will jump it is just a matter of time..as for the bicolor i am pretty sure it is going to give chase to the mccoskers

sorry about that, let me explain a bit more wrasseguy...I have a canopy, but the top of the tank isn't closed if that makes any sense..I have a glass cover that has lids to open and close but I never put them on as it creates more heat in the tank so yes it can jump out of the actual tank, but if it were to do that, it could and would only land back in the tank...either way, I have seen my Powder blue jump and of course Blue Spot Jawfish but never my McCosker's wrasse. A simple diy cover should work either way.

you are so right eklikewhoa, sometimes I feel sorry for my McCosker's wrasse..it gets picked on by my chromis, flame angel, bartletts anthias and psuedochromis...and that's one of the big reasons why i'm currently selling my anthias and chromis..they give the most chase..and meanwhile my McCosker's would never even hurt a fly..really, once a fly fell in my tank and my McCosker's which is my most curious fish, went to investigate and just left it alone..lol

Ok. A few things. They will jump. It is not a question of IF but WHEN. But if your canopy will cause them to fall back in the tank, then no problem. Egg crate will definitely NOT keep them in.

Pseudochromis do not mix with fairy or flasher wrasses with the possible exception of an orchid dottyback. These are great fish and I highly recommend them.

I was very interested in this one too. Supposed to be a gorgeous fish to watch.

I see they are from different areas. Kenya, Tonga, Australia to name a few. Do they differ in color or something?

I need to find a male for my female....bought it and it was a juvi but after a while in my tank it turned full female.

I have my tank open top right now but made a screen top for it with 1/4" netting but seeing as though there is nothing in the tank to bother it so hopefully it won't jump....if and when I find a male to go in there I will start using the screen top more often.
