So another missing flasher thread..sadly...

120 gallon mix reef with a male and female carpentar wrasse, yellow tang, long nose butterfly, flame hawk, and breeding pair of clowns.

received the mccosker's flasher and long nose together, aclimated them for about 1.5 hours and set them both lose into the display at the same time. the wrasse swam slowly around the tank untill he saw the carpentars and then darted into the rock work...that was 3 days ago.
i havent seen the mccosker's flasher since i released him...sadly i have given up and will now stop trying to add another flasher wrasse.

question is could it be dead in the rock work or dead period and my clean up crew is just too good at cleaning up so i will never see a body again?

mccosker's flasher arent known to bury themselve and i havent seen one that hasnt come out within a day or two...

Was the wrasse shipped or from the local fish store? Fish have been known to disappear for weeks at a time completely unseen.

My Midas Blenny went almost 11 days in hiding before he poked his head out. I was for sure he was goner. But in the end he was fine. I also have a McCoskers and he doesn't seem to mind me at all he comes right up to my hand when its in the tank. No fear from that fish.

This is so true, but only after acclimated. I'm sure that since he is in a larger tank it may take a little bit more time for him to come out. Just give it a few more days, all fish are different.
