McCosker's Wrasse?

I ordered a McCosker's online tonight and will be getting it in a couple of days, and I've got a couple questions for the flasher wrasse experts.

The fish is coming in from LiveAquaria so I know its been through a quarantine period at their facility, should I go ahead and put it in my quarantine or straight into main tank?

I have a standard 29g set up as a qt, barebottom, hob filter, pvc pieces for hideouts.
Main tank is a 75g reef with some sand and mostly smaller fish, though I do have a 4in or so Solarensis wrasse.

Are McCoskers photosensitive in the acclimation process?

I got my McCosker's wrasse exactly the same way you did and it went straight into my display tank. Some will say that you should qt all fish even from Diver's Den, but I didn't and I have had my wrasse for about 6 months and completely healthy, has also grown about 1.5 inches in that period of time. The Solar wrasse might be tough on it though and mine wasn't photosensitive in the acclimation process. Good luck and great choice in getting a stunning fish.

Nice fish Apercula! Even though your fish is from Divers Den I would recommend that you still quarantine it. It's better to be safe than sorry. I recently had a McCoskers that I quarantined for 3 weeks. It was eating great and appeared to be in perfect health. It even ate within minutes of adding it to my 180 gal reef. It was gone the next day, never to be seen again. Perplexing and frustrating.

2 things............QQQQTTTTT!!!.........and get a female.......or another flasher if you would like to keep those sweet colors, this would prevent him from turning back into a female.......yikes!

cwoods8, would 2 supermales of different species do ok in a 29g qt at the same time? or would it be better to wait on the second till after the first is in mt?

tight quarters, but smaller species than their cousins (Cirrhilabrus).........but can be done......better to do it at the same time.....
but if you need to add later, be sure the second is bigger....as long as he flashes......those colors stay vibrant......

good luck!
