Meegwell 90g Basement Build

I really like the built-in look and the separate wet room idea, I'm trying to read all I can about that now. Thanks for posting.

I've been MIA a few months for good reason, explained below.

lets get right to some progress pics here...

Here are some of the tank's first few inhabitants.. a couple clowns, a yellow tank, birds nest and duncan:

At some point I decided to remove a fair amount of sand. I did it the wrong way by not being prepared for the SW replacement. It was a mess and I lost the tang and learned a lesson:

The duncan has thrived since day one, in this shot he is just sproating his second head:

The birdsnest sustained an injury upon arrival, but is thriving now. This is the injury I was concerned about. Notice the pale stem...

On the mechanical side, I got a snail stuck in my bean animal full siphon downpipe THREE different times. I'm a slow learner...its covered with netting now...

WHY have I not updated my build thread in three months while I'm right at the cusp of getting the tank going?

Very, very, important stuff...the tank is running smooth. Water is near perfect all the time.

I do 10% a week WC, clean with a magfloat, empty the skimmer from time to time....and feed nightly.

I've been busy the past few months building a sweet bar to sit at and admire the tank build, of course...

New Tank Shots

So Im going on about a year now - just over for the tank but just under for most inhabitants - and here is where I stand.

I've battled a major aiptasia outbreak (controlled by peppermints) and a very big red hair and slime outbreak which I believe was due to my rodi filters being way past expiration (don't mess with this!!!). I am currently manually destroying bubble algae and Im fine with where I stand there - it was much worse!

The duncan and the birds nest are my oldest corals. The fish have been the same for a while.

And the bar (the viewing seats for the tank) now has a tap - currently serving New Belgian Fat Tire :)

salty I assume what you mean by the backside is the sump room :) ?

The duncan has grown about 10 or more heads since june if you look at the close up shot (with sexy shrimp) from June 5 - just sprouting his second head. You'll see him in the middle of the tank on the sand in the most recent shots.

...and the tank comes across more blue in these photos (iPhone 5s standard settings whatever they are) it is actually more white in real life.

Wow man, some great progress. I take it that this tank is in the man cave then. Awesome bar too, drink on bro!

Great fish selection btw...and I'm also curious what kind of fish that is? I'm probably waaay off, but my guess would be some kind of rabbitfish?
