I wonder do LA have Melanurus Wrasse? or different kinds of species than Melanurus?

Melanurus Wrasse is a reef safe fish? I noticed other webiste mentioned that Melanurus Wrasse is reef safe, I don't know if its actually true?

Will along with sixline wrasse and checkerboard wrasse?

Thanks

aeroaustin,

Thank you for your inquiry. The Hoeven’s Wrasse is a beautiful fish; however, we would advise using caution when adding this fish into a reef tank. They may eat small invertebrates such as feather dusters or small shrimp. We carry the Hoeven’s Wrasse on LiveAquaria, but if you are searching for other Melanurus species we would recommend watching our Diver’s Den selections. We have had an excellent variety of wrasse species in the past.

The Checker Board Wrasse we also have marked with caution for reef tanks because it may eat some invertebrates. The Sixline Wrasse will be fine to add to a reef tank and a very popular choice for getting rid of unwanted pests in an aquarium. If we can be of additional assistance, please contact our LiveAquaria Department at 1-800-334-3699, via email CustomerService@LiveAquaria.com, or PM us.
