Membership Dues will be rising effective March 1st

Hello, just wanted to give everyone a heads up. FMAS membership dues will be rising on March 1st, 2007. The new dues will be $10 for individual members under 18, $20 for individuals, and $30 for falilies. The old rates of $15 for individuals and $20 for families will still be good if you join before March 1st, 2007.

Your dues help pay for speakers, rentals, equipment, snacks for meetings, and more. Thank you for all of you that have already joined for 2007. See you all Sunday!

Ciro, These are yearly membership fees, The fee makes you an official club member, it also give you some advantages and discounts.

Am I the only one who seems to remember the dues being HIGHER than that before? Maybe I'm mistaken. $20 for a family membership is a steal for what you come away with... Great meetings, trust me, I don't care who you are or what your personality is, you'll come away with friends, and that's priceless.

The new Memberships are
Jr $10/yr.
Individual $20/yr.
Family $30/yr.

Yes I agree that's really low when you consider the education, friendship, Help, 911 calls plus that we get 10% off a lot of stores with membership. If you look at my spending this year I saved close to $200 on just that.

After the club gets our membership cards back in order we will put together a list of store which give a discount and hopefully expand that list. Right now the stores I know of (please add or correct me if I am wrong) are Reef Life, Big Als, Eco Reef, and Reef Edge. I have a feeling there are 1-2 more also.

Ciro, you can sign up at the frag swap, general meetings, or any club event.

However I never got my card on the previous membership. Are cards being printed after each renewal or it is a one time deal?

You get a card each year you are a member (unless things change in the future).

When is the next meeting and how often do you meet? I am new to the area and to Reef Central but have been in the hobby for about 5 years (still makes me a newbie though). Would also like to join FMAS.
