Merulina issues

This is a merulina coral. For some reason it started dying.... But it's only partially some of itss still alive . The dying black area stopped spreading.

Do I cut off the dying part or just leave it the way it is?

I don't know much about that coral but it looks like it got way too much light or flow (or both). I can still see the eyes glowing in the white area. Theoretically, the coral should be able to regrow tissue over the existing skeleton since no algae has made its way onto it but if that were mine, I would consider fragging the healthy sections and place them in different areas of my tank to see where it does best.
