Metal Halide Flickering/Pulsing

So I have been running a 250w phoenix 14k on a lumatek ballast in a hamilton cayman sun pendant. I decided to switch to the AB 20k bulb a couple days ago and I have noticed some minor flickering/pulsing. Like it semi-rapidly increases and decreases in brightness slightly. I have verified that the bulb is seated properly and the connections aren't corroded.

Could there be an incompatibility between the bulb and ballast or is this normal on some new bulbs? Any ideas?

Put the phoenix back in and see if it works right. If so, then it is likely the bulb.

You can see black marks if the current is arcing with a bad seat.
