Meteor Shower Cyphastrea, polyp extension?

I just received a frag of this yesterday from Divers Den. Nice looking frag, however there is no polyp extension at all, even at night!

Is this normal? Possibly a sign that the coral isn't healthy?

Give it time. Should retract it's polps at night. Did you really pay their absurd price? Sorry but their prices are awful...just my opinion

Yeah I did...lol. It was only to get free shipping though. I had to spend $50 more to get free shipping and didn't see anything else I wanted, so I sprung for the meteor shower.

I dont think there prices are that bad...they get awesome stuff from the pictures I see. $50 for a meteor shower is a decent price...not a bargin but what I would expect to pay from a store....as long as the frag size is an inch in diameter or more. You will be happy with it.

As far as the polyps....mine are always out. Give it some time before you start to worry though.

Bad picture, white balance is completely off. Looks like the polyps are starting to come out finally.

Where do you have it in your tank? Mine is on a large rock about 4-5" off the bottom and just off to the left of the lamp. This puts it probably 24" beneath and 6" left of a 250W Radium. Polyp extension is phenomenal, color is good, and it's grown to attach itself to some of the surrounding rocks. With the polyps fully extended you can barely see the green encrusting skeleton.
