Metronidazole (Metro+) as a precaution?

Hello,

After two doses of PraziPro my clown in DT died today with white stringy poop. I thought PraziPro should take care of internal and external worms and parasites. From searching on this forum, it seems i should have used Metro+ instead of PraziPro.

Question 1: should I treat all my fish in DT with Metro+ by soaking their food? Is there any harm in doing this?

All my other fish in DT seem fine and are eating well. Like the clown, they all underwent two full PraziPro back-to-back treatments.

Question 2: PraziPro is part of my QT cycle before introducing any fish. Is it a good idea to also add Metro+ to the QT cycle, regardless of whether or not the fish show any symptoms?

Please advise, thanks!

IMO its a great idea to use Metro mixed with food as part of QT treatment. It is also very safe to use at any time in DT. I feel it is more effective than Prazi-Pro for internal parasites. Another good product is Paracide-X made by NFP.

Does Metro+ and Paracide-X do the same thing? I can buy Metro+ from LFS so it is easier to obtain.
