MG - whats acceptable?

Thanks for your time -

I read in Randy's Reef Aquarium Water Parameters that MG should be between 1250-1350 ppm.

If my tank measures 1150 ppm - how concerned should I be?

I'd raise it. In this case, you could use Epsom salts, MAG Flake de-icer, or a commercial additive.

Also - could you recommend a common - reasonable quality MG test kit. I'd like to try to find something local - no luck finding Salifert at my LFS's.

I'd suggest trying to get the Salifert kit online.
