MH Lighting for clams

Are MH lights reccommended for anyone wanting to keep clams?

I have a 120 Gal tank (4x2x2) & was planning on getting a 4x96watt PC hood & was wondering if how many watts of MH i should use to suppliment these for keeping clams.

Yes, MH is the only lighting that is suitable for keeping clams.

I would personally go for 2x250W or 2x400W depending on what sort of clams you want to keep. Although, since the lower light clams (derasa, squamosa and gigas) live on the sand and high light clams (crocea and maxima) live on rocks, 400W is probably the best option for your tank being 24" tall.
