i have two corals that i baught as acan lord but the polops on one are much smaller than the other. the big ones polops are about quarter size the small ones polops are smaller than a dime. could this smaller one be micromussa. sorry no camera for pics. am i correct in assuming micros are smaller if not what are the differances between the two.

sure, one might be a micro. the polyps on lords start out small, so it might have just been a frag from the side of the lord colony.

sorry i should have described it better.this is not a frag i have had it about a year it is about 3" x 3" and has aprox 40-50 polops.

a picture would really help. it could be a lord with small polyps (I have one like that) or a micro with large polyps (I have one like that, too). I imagine that the only way to know for sure is to examine the skeleton.

I have lots of very small polyped Acan lords so it is not really the size as much as the morphology and finally skeletal structure

BUT......

Thats a micro :) Lucky you

Yeah, agreed, its a micro. I have a very similar one. It looks a little stressed in that pic though....might want to check the parameters (unless you just moved it).
