I just set up my 90 gallon with a seperate sump and refuge and I have micro bubbles from hell in the display tank.
Im using a mag 7 to return from the sump and a mag 5 to return from the refuge. THe mag 7 is running externally and originally i was going to run the mag5 externally as well but the impeller housing cracked so i had to run this internally.
Both the refuge and the sump have baffles, and both pumps feed into the same return line. I have been running the tank now for 2 days and the micro bubbles havent let up, the only thing in the tank is sand and liverock at the moment.
THe sump is a 20 gallon and the refuge is a 10 gallon. THe only place i actually see bubbles is in the sump but after the baffles there are no bubbles which feeds into the mag7 which suggests the pump is cavitating. Any suggestions?
if anyone has any ideas on what is causing the problem or how to elimnate the problem please post up.
