For some reason I am getting micro bubbles from my return from my sump. There is no skimmer in the sump yet. I don't know where they are coming from. I don't see the bubbles in the return line just coming out of the return nozzle. Any ideas?
Did you recently do a water change? How long has this tank been running? Sometimes in a new tank, until everything gets coated with biofilm, you will have these bubbles but they tend to go away on their own in most cases.
Did you seal all the PVC on your return line (if you used pvc). I had a small leak in my return plumbing that was causing a lot of micro bubbles. Took me a while to figure out where they came from.
I am using flexible tubing for plumping. Not PVC. The tank has been running for 24 hours roughly. The tank was running when I grabbed it on Friday night without the bubbles. I set it back up yesterday afternoon to get it going and it was bubbling this morning.
There is air getting into your return line. I had the same problem. My leak was in the plumbing inside the tank (I used lock line). I submerged it, and it went away so I sealed it with thread tape.
