Micro Bubbles

I have a new 29g tank (2 weeks old) and just started running my skimmer 3 days ago and have alot of micro bubble coming from the skimmer. The skimmer is an insump Turbofloater 1000 that I bought used and cleaned thouroughly with vinager before I used it. Its pulling a bunch of real brown crud (full cup the first night) so its working great but ive got quite a bit of bubbles making there way to my display. Is this normal?? Is it just temporary or is somthing wrong??

If the bubbles do not subside within a couple of days, maybe a week, then I would start being concerned that it is adjusted wrong. Give it some break in time you should be fine.

The bubbles are normal and will remain. You can run the output through a filter sock if it is really bothersome. The Turboflotor also comes with a little black box full of bioballs that you may or may not have received since you bought it used. The box works a little to dissipate the bubbles, but not much.

Thanks for the info. It is VERY bothersome as I have constant bubbles in my display from my return. I do have the black box that came with it but I cant fit it in my sump, this skimmer has a HUGE footprint. I think I may just go with a smaller skimmer that wont have this problem??? Any suggestions?? I have a 29 gallon with 20L sump and would like to stay in sump an inexpensive.

You have a good skimmer and I would stick with it myself. You stated you were happy with the output, no? Try a filter sock, it is cheaper than a new skimmer and works well.

can you add live rock between the skimmer and return?
this will help break down some of these bubbles

No unfortunatley this skimmer takes up the entire skimmer section of my sump so no room for rock, thanks for the suggestion though.

I did put some spunge/foam in the first baffle today when I got home and its helping but still getting some bubbles in the display, mabye it'll get better now??? If not mabye i'll go to a less porus spunge. I dont want the maintenance of a filter sock so thats not an option, id rather go with a skimmer that doesnt have this problem if it comes down to that.

Yes He is thats a bad pic though hes about 3yrs old and just beautiful but I may be a little bias

Hes a handsome boy. I have a boxer also, my 3rd one. Just had to put down my boy LeRoy after 14 years. Boxers are by far the best dogs IMO.
