micro bubbles

i just set up my new 65g tank. i upgraded from 55 and used almost all of the water. my old tank used a overflow box and my new tank is drilled. i had to up my pump outlet from 5/8 hose to 3/4 by using a fitting. i wrapped all the fittings i could find with teflon tape, moved my skimmer and pump away from eachother with foam inbetween, and all my connections are tight... i don't see any bubbles going up the return hose so i'm baffled!?!?! i'm kinda figuring it's just due to new tank syndrome. kinda like new skimmer syndrome. any help is very much apprechiated. oh btw where are ya'll finding the eggcrate plastic shelve things? i can't find them.

Inspect your pumps carefully. The seals could have a small leak. When this happened to me, I first noticed salt creep on the pump where is shouldn't be. Screws may need tightening or the seals replaced.

that part of the pump is submerged. it's submerged up to the hose comming out of the top. thanks for the response though.

Eggcrate can be found in the lighting section of your big box hardware store. I is called a light diffuser.
